Qimen Dunjia: The Mystical Art of Doors and Timing

Among all Chinese metaphysical arts, Qimen Dunjia (奇门遁甲) is the most mysterious — and the most powerful. For centuries, it was classified as a state secret, taught only to military strategists and imperial advisors. Its name translates to "Mysterious Gates, Hidden Stems," and it was believed capable of turning the tide of battle and the course of dynasties.

What Is Qimen Dunjia?

Qimen Dunjia is a spatiotemporal divination system — it maps favorable and unfavorable energies across both time and space. Unlike other divination arts that tell you what will happen, Qimen tells you when and where to act for optimal results.

The Three Components

Qi (奇) — The Three Mysteries

Yi (乙), Bing (丙), and Ding (丁) — the three Heavenly Stems that represent flexibility, brilliance, and precision. They are the "keys" that unlock favorable doors.

Men (门) — The Eight Doors

The eight doors are gates of energy, each governing a different type of action:

Dun (遁) — The Hidden Stems

The sixth of the ten Heavenly Stems is always "hidden" in a Qimen chart — representing the concealed factor in every situation. Mastery of Qimen involves uncovering what is hidden.
